FS Only: Spector Euro 4 - Maple wings, early SN

Sign in to disble this ad
Spector Euro 4 Nb0064, full maple wings, EMG 9v preamp, Emg P/J pickups, 2 band (bass/treble), vol, blend.

For sale: 1000 + free shipping, ConUs, inc. Dingwall gig bag (or slightly broken hardshell case, your choice)

I picked this up in a trade and it's working fine for me -- great bass. But I want something custom made and so something's got to sell--it's either this or my Dingwall, so I'm going to try this first.

It's in good shape but played, couple little dings here and there. Setup is pretty low, hair over 1/8" at 12th fret without depressing any strings. Won't go much lower without a light touch or a new setup.

It's got a pretty aggressive sound, nice fast neck, really comfortable heft and fit (no idea on weight, but it's less than 10.5lbs and more than 8lbs -- any guess I have would be wrong or with a bad scale. I can have it weighed accurately if it's a dealbreaker for you).

This is not the same as the LX Euro models - wings are solid maple. It's neck through.

Free bump. I used to have a Spector from the same era. Killer basses. Much better than the new LX models, IMO. I wish I had the funds to take it off your hands.

It's bigger than a jazz but smaller than a P I would say -- 1 & 5/8" at the nut, but flattish radius. I'll post a pic but it looks under 1" deep at the nut and C-shaped.

Here are a couple pics:

Added them to the picasa library as well.

If this is anything like the one I used to own (NB0508) it's neck is quite a bit thinner (front to back) as compared to any newer Euro LX that I've played. As rpsands said, between a J and a P, but I think closer to the J end of the spectrum. PhatBasstard has that bass now. He thinks that it's slimmer as well. PM him to pick his brain if you want. He's a good guy and has a lot of knowledge about these basses. He thinks very highly of the early Euros. I think I remember reading that he actually prefers them to an NS2 that he has/had. Having owned an '89 NS2, I would have to agree.

Still available for the time being but probably a short-timer - get a hold of me if you're interested.

Thanks for the interest, leaning away from P-profile necks for the time being - I'll see if I can get some time to go down to GC and re-familiarize myself though.

Free shipping bump! Also, don't hesitate to make me offers.

In the trade arena I have a definite preference for graphite necks, american fenders with the jazz neck, and passive basses.

I could actually really use a Line6 M5 or M9 so if anyone happens to have one of those as partial trade it'd be a big plus

* Also, price drop to 1000 shipped for cash (or paypal of course) buyers!
