FS Only : US Peavey Cirrus 4 String Redwood and Alder...Needs LOVE...Cheap!

Hey all,

Been awhile since ive been in these parts but the upcoming arrival of a new child has me moving some gear.

I picked up this bass about 3 years ago in a trade. I believe this bass was built in 2007-2008 I always wanted to try a Cirrus and this did not disappoint...I wanted to keep her around for my 1st child to play down the road but it needs to go.

I want to be up front in all of my sales so here's the nitty gritty.

This is a USA model...not overseas...I have $1100 invested in this bass from the point of trade. When I received it, it was immaculate and used for approx. 6months from the previous owner. The owner had tried another preamp however reinstalled the original. The bass is gorgeous...Redwood top over alder body...The body has a hard gloss finish with no major chips/cracks or scratches..there is one minor indent on the back but unnoticeable unless in the proper light. ..and Id say in the 9lb range.Fretboard is pau ferro and straight..no warping or truss rod issues in the neck ...35" scale...One small indent on the back of the neck..unnoticeable while playing. This comes with the original hard case.

The bad:

I attempted to replace the nut to improve the action..this was not a huge success thus I recommend replacing the nut..it is functional but not ideal. I did not glue in the new nut..its floating right now. These nuts can be purchased from Peavey for $6-7... In the process of replacing the nut the truss cover has been misplaced. Also a small amount of epoxy/resin type material that covers up the weave of the headstock chipped and there is a small indent on the side of the nut.

I replaced the original 2 band preamp with Peavey 3 band preamp. This included the stacked mid sweep knob. This was a huge improvement however has stopped working. Im not big on electronics so have not attempted to locate the issue. These preamps can be purchased from Peavey for $85.

Lastly I started to replace the gold hardware with black. I stopped after the tuners. I am attempting to locate the original gold hardware if you choose to switch it back. The bridge is still gold.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns...

Im looking for $425obo shipped and insured east of the mississippi and $450obo west.

hmm, ordered one a few weeks ago and it was more like $12-13, although that was for a 5 string Cirrus.

Are you sure the original pre-amp was 2 band? Thought that would be 3 band, just with a fixed mid instead of the sweepable/stacked "Millenium" pre. Do you still have the original preamp?

What kind of tuners did you install?

If you still have the original preamp and gold hardware, that's kind of tempting, and it REALLY shouldn't be since I already have a 4 string Redwood US Cirrus... (although I suppose that's part of why it's tempting )
