Last bass in the "Moving Sale" for me:
Let me start out by saying I love this bass. Unfortunately, my hands do not love P bass necks. This bass will do the Motown sound without breaking a sweat. It has the best unplugged tone I've heard on a bass without a Nitro finish.
The Deets:
Warmoth Maple/Maple P Bass Neck, 20 frets (somewhat rare unless special ordered). Vintage Tint Gloss Finish. Schaller Tuners. Has one dark mark near the back of the headstock, it is under the finish and seems to be part of the maple. The width is 1.75 and it has a very thick C shape to it, very much like the '57 necks. 10" Radius.
MIJ Fender 1957 RI P Bass Body. Poly Finish without a scratch, absolutely beautiful example for the 2 Tone Burst! Has Official Fender Thumb rest, Ashtrays, and Gold Anodized Pickguard, and Vintage Barrel Bridge. Duncan Strap locks are installed.
Pickup is hand made by Stan Hinesley, his HAS Sound Mojo P. It has been 10% Overwound as ordered by me, which puts it right around 11.5k. The wiring was all ordered and done by Butch at Bayou Audio Cables.
Bass is currently strung with LaBella Flats, 760's. It does not include the case shown. I may end up buying a cheap gig bag (or case if you want, plus added $) in which to ship the bass for added protection.
The bass weights between 9.5-10 pounds, most of the weight is in the Warmoth neck, these necks are usually heavy because of the graphite supports.
Asking
$700 plus shipping to the Lower 48 States. I'll accept Paypal, but I prefer Postal Money Orders.
Trust me, if you've ever wanted a Fender '57 RI, this is easily worth what they ask for, but at half the price! The only difference is the Poly finish.
