This is a original Steinberger XL2/A bass in very good condition, located in the Nashville, TN area. Based on the Steinberger World serial-number database this bass was constructed in ~1998 right here in Nashville. And judging by the serial number (T95xx) it appears it was one of the last XL2s built, making this a real piece of history in addition to an excellent playing instrument.
This bass is complete with battery cover, pivot plate and legrest, and even includes its original factory gigbag!
There are only two cosmetic issues with the bass worth mentioning, neither of which impact its playability at all: There is a small chip in the gelcoat on the back of the neck...too small to feel while playing (or even to photograph.) Also, the textured
surface finish of the pivot plate has chipped off on one corner. The PP itself is still 100% structurally intact since it is only the outer textured finish layer that's impacted, and I don't even notice it when I'm playing.
This rest of the bass is in outstanding shape and the body is still remarkably shiny -- much more so than most all-composite Steinberger you see listed for sale. This has been a fantastic instrument to own and enjoy, but it is time for me to part with it.
