FS: An Original TRB6P Piezo w/ single coils in "Red Blonde"

This is one of those "you know you're going to kick yourself later" posts but I've got GAS so here goes.

Up for sale is a bass that I searched for about 6 months to find. I really really REALLY wanted a 6 string and I didn't want to cut corners. I wanted one of the original yamaha 6 strings with the original single coil / piezo system. They discontinued these single coils in 1996 and nothing else they've used after that can compare to the original single coil system (in my opinion).

Also I didn't want the first run they did which had a single truss rod. I know some people never had an issue with the single truss rod but there were some that did. Plus if you've got a fretboard that's big enough to land aircraft on then you better have a dual truss rod system.

Nice pretty top and back. Schaller strap buttons are currently installed but I'm including the original strap buttons as well. Frets are great and no issues at all with the bass etc but make sure to see the last picture below. Comes with the hard shell case shown in the picture.

Here are the specs...
Construction: Neck-thru-Body
Scale Length: 33-7/8" (860mm)
Neck: Maple/ Mahogany
Fingerboard: Ebony
Nut Width: 2-3/16" (56mm)
Radius: 39" (1000mm)
Frets: 24
Body: Figured Maple/ Rose/ Maple
Bridge: BPZ-6 (with Piezo)
Pickups: Single Coil x 2, Piezo Pickup
Pickup Switch: 2 Balancer
Controls: 5-Control System
Hardware: Gold
Color: Red Blonde

$1500 shipped & insured CONUS, Paypal preferred

There's a chip at the base and a few very tiny nicks right around where the chip is (previous owner, not me ) I tried to get a good picture but this is the best one I could get. I was going to have it drop filled but I never got around to it.

Old, single coil pickup, wide neck six string Yamaha TRB6s are on my short list of "Holy Grail" basses. Someone is going to be very happy with this one!

Owned one of these up until a few months ago. One of the best 6 strings ever made! Unfortunately I had to make choices...
