Thumbs up FS: P-Bass by Dan Ransom

This is my first classified here, but I’m on Ebay with excellent feedback.

Here’s a P- bass from San Francisco’s Dan Ransom. I’ve sold Sadowky, Tyler, Suhr, Lull, and vintage and US dlx Fenders to play Ransoms. He’s made 10 instruments for me, 8 of which are guitars, and is about to make two more basses (I also have a J from him). He’s made over 3000 instruments over 30 years and has a famous client list; you rarely see them for sale. I’m selling to this to help fund a J with a P pickup.

This really is an extraordinary P-bass. The acoustic tone is LOUD, resonant, deep and clear. Long sustain. Plays like butta, recent setup. VERY light use, and NEVER left smoke free, kid free, dog free home studio. Excellent+ condition. Alder body, maple neck and fingerboard, graphite reinforcement, new Fralin P-pickup and new pots (pickup was active), hipshot full size vintage tuners, high mass bridge is either Hipshot or Gotoh, ashtray cover, drilled for finger rest, light flame in the neck, WALNUT dots. The fingerboard is plek’d by Dan, and the finish is great. I’m a sunburst nut, and this a very subtle, nicely graduated 3-tone, never black, yellow, or stark. Tight neck joint, and battery box is ready for a J-Retro pre! I recently pulled an active basslines pickup out that I’m also listing for sale. I actually loved it, to my surprise, and this Fralin is the best of passive.

Basically, it’s perfect, and easily blows away every other P I’ve played. But I want a PJ in a J shape and based on experience I’m confidant he can get it this good again.

$1350 is a firm price, shipped, paypaled, insured, insured in CONUS. No trades.
Thanks! Please give her a good home.

Sorry about the fingerprints in the pics!

bump.
Dan Ransom was the maker for Modulus for years.
American Standard, American Deluxe, CIJ, and especially Roadworns are truly toys compared to the tone, feel, and quality of this bass.
Someone buy it. I only want the same thing with a j neck and a different color.
One more week and I mod it.
Thanks.
