FS: Peavey Cirrus USA 5-String Wenge top/Walnut

Sign in to disble this ad
Nice Peavey Cirrus USA 5-String Wenge top/Walnut bass. Includes Peavey case. Originally sold to me as walnut, but I believe the top is Wenge. Previous owner had an issue with the case (just outside layer, foam was fine) due to a left on heat lamp. I coated with plasti-dip then taped and coated again.

Plays nice. I love the looks of this bass, but find I am really only playing my Dingwalls.

$850 includes shipping in the continental US.

I'll only consider trades of Dingwall basses and possibly a Markbass 12" combo amp.

SWEET bass ! I have the exact same Cirrus ('99) in a 4 string. The tone is amazing on these with the wenge top ! Probably one of my favorites, tone wise. Wenge has a very dark, rich, deep tone, and I'm not talking about coffee ! (mmm.. coffee)

Bump for a great bass at a great price !

It shouldn't last long. Wenge is not available anymore on Cirrus !

Just a few questions. It's my first buying experience on TB and I'd like more info. Could I please get some answers to these questions:

Are there any issues with this bass?
How is the neck?
Truss rods ok?
any issues on fret board?
Any issues with tuners, bridge?
How about the electronics?
Are the pots clean and crackle free?
When was the last setup done?

Thanks in advance.

Neck is very straight and the action low. I haven't had a need to adjust the truss rod, but I can make sure its moving.

No issues on fret board, tuners, or bridge. I had a little crackle when I first received this bass, but I've cleaned the pots and its sounding great now. I have not done a setup on it as the prior owner had just done this along with a new set of strings.

Cosmetically I've already mentioned a slight dent near the pickup. There is perhaps a little rub from turning the volume knob. In general, it could use a little lemon oil to put a little shine on it, but thats about it.

Any other questions, let me know.

Wow. No takers there either (unless I want to ship to Russia or Italy). Price drop to $750 shipped in Continental US.

A Peavey Cirrus without a B string is like visiting a strip club without any singles ($$). Poorest analogy I could come up with.

Kickin' bass and one heckuva deal! I see these being compared to Ken Smiths....same vibe at 1/4 the cost!
