The bass is in mint condition. I gave the bass a nice set up and fitted her with brand new batteries this weekend. She plays and sounds great. This particular bass has the nicest finish I've ever seen on a G bass with the sparkles being multi-colored. The only thing that has been touched is the previous owner colored over the white knob lines in green to pick up on the color of the sparkles. It actually looks great but probably can be undone if this annoys you, and Peavey does still sell replacement knobs I believe.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with these basses, Peavey G Basses were introduced in 1998 to compete with the Modulus flea bass. They are very much like the Flea featuring graphite necks, a humbucker in the sweet spot and 3band eq all for a fraction of the price.
Like all G's this bass features 18 volt electronics (active pickup and electronics), a 35" scale and a Pao Ferro fingerboard. The bass is light weight and very well balanced.
I am asking $475 for this bass obo, shipped anywhere in the CONUS. If you have any questions let me know. Meanwhile, enjoy the pics below:
bump for a very nice ax. For any that haven't played these graphite neck basses, generally they are extremely light and responsive. The necks are relatively stable- similar to the Modulus Genesis basses in that humidity changes do make for slight changes in relief, but not much. I have one now that I converted into a fretless. I also removed the original pickup and preamp and installed a set of EMG J pickups in 60's J position(apologies to any that aren't EMG fans LOL). The original preamp is a modified Cirrus model, and the pickup, sans preamp, is still active, and has a smokin' MM StingRay type of tone with TONS of output. Moved to the sweet spot, it makes a real MM killer. As stock, they have that cliche but true "supercharged P-type" tone.
