FS: Peavey G-V w/Millennium preamp

SOLD!!!!!!

Peavey G-V 5-string bass guitar. Graphite neck. Pau ferro fretboard. Black holo-flake finish. Made in USA. VFL (active) pickups.

Controls are Volume, Blend, Bass boost/cut, Treble boost/cut, Mid boost/cut stacked on Mid frequency sweep. Center of mid frequency boost/cut can be adjusted from 200Hz to 2000Hz.

Glossy black holo-flake finish has what looks like white specks in it, but when the light hits them right, the specks turn red, green, blue, yellow. It looks awesome with stage lighting hitting it.

Soundwise, this has the same pickups as Peavey's top of the line Cirrus basses. The preamp has been upgraded from stock to the same preamp that Peavey installs in Cirrus basses that are built in the Peavey Custom Shop. It's also the same preamp that came standard in Peavey's Millennium basses, when they were made in the USA (before the Millennium became a BXP model that is made overseas). This combo of pickups and preamp sounds awesome! Being able to dial in the exact tone by shaping where you are boosting or cutting the midrange is key to bass guitar sound (in my opinion). And the preamp makes these pickups sound better even when the EQ controls are all set flat.

There are rumors that the graphite neck was made for Peavey by Modulus, but as far as I know Peavey has never confirmed that.

I am the second owner of this beauty. The original owner was a girl who got it when she was in middle school and, apparently, stuck it in its case under her bed until she grew up, got out of college and finally decided to sell it. It is flawless except for one small scratch on the bottom edge which you don't normally even see because of the holo-flake.

Weight is 9.0 pounds on my digital bathroom scale. String spacing is currently set to 17mm, but I'm told it's adjustable. I've never even tried to do that. I'm also told the body is ash.

These are really hard to find. And this is the only one I have personally seen with the Millennium preamp (and nice, Peavey OEM metal knobs). After watching them on eBay, etc., I'm asking $800, paid by Paypal. It will be shipped in the original hardshell case via FedEx.

I'm not really interested in any trades at this time. I'm only selling this to buy a specific bass that is currently available.

I did gig with it at the one and only gig I have played on bass.

I've had hands on experience with Stuart's basses.

Unlike most people, he has the same definition of "good and/or excellent" when buying and selling.

IF someone wanted a carbon fiber bass, this is an excellent option.... the upgrades alone are worth over $100 in parts.

BLACK HOLOFLAKE
This is the trickiest finish to take pictures of. (hint) People forget to take a photo of one from 30 feet back.. the flakes disappear and ad sparkle to the edges... it doesn't look like a disco ball from stage.

My first G was this color - it didnt' make sense until seeing it from mid audience.

Please feel invited to PM me if you're interested in discussing this bass.

Thanks, Tim!

Was busy gigging (on drums, unfortunately) all weekend. I'm back now. All PMs replied.

Bass is still available. But, the bass I wanted sold to somebody else, so I'm debating on whether to still sell this.

There is one other bass I would consider a trade for. It's a long shot, though. But, if anybody has a Stingray 5 SLO with a maple board and the "right" color, I'd be game for a trade. I can put in cash.
