FS: Peavey MIA Fury precision style w/ upgrades

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a 1993 Peavey Fury with original Alnico pickup. It was rewired with new CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, orange drop. It was repainted and I believe the pickguard was as well. It is strung with La Bella Deep Talkin Flats.

I purchased this from a guy who had it in storage for awhile since he is not really a bass player. The nut was never properly widened so I began to file it and it broke :P I had a local tech install a new nut. He advised me that some of the frets past the 15th fret (closer to the pocket) were starting to lift up. ( I did not notice this at the time I bought it) He suspects that when the bass was in storage it wasn't in a case, and imagines a refret would be beneficial in the future. Right now it doesn't affect the playability, and probably most wouldn't even notice. In the interest of full disclosure and being the honest guy I am, I want to throw that out there. Anyway, the bass plays fantastic and sounds great as well. Very thumpy!

I am asking for 210.00 + shipping. Free shipping in the cont. US. Paypal works great. No trades as of right now, just scored a great deal from Brett. Here are a few pics, I can get some more later.

Additional info:
Is the neck on this gloss or satin?
The back is satin but the actual fingerboard it self is gloss.

What kind of buzz free action is it capable of?
The tech who installed the nut set the action pretty low, I am use to a more medium action since I tend to dig in and play harder. As long as I don't play hard its pretty good. Wish I had something to measure the action with.

Are there any mentionable blemishes on the back of the neck?
Playing I haven't noticed any, and I am usually pretty sensitive to that. However, there are some scrapes between the 7-9th fret that are not too deep.

Another PM replied, additional information added.

This would make a great beater/backup for your P at the sketchy gigs. MIA quality and tone to boot!

Some more pics:

Bass with chipboard case:

Close up of end frets, you can see how they are raised from the wood a bit. If you shred beyond the 14th fret with rounds you might want to consider a refret sooner than later. Otherwise no problems with flats.

Back of bass, just the one major dings, that is wider than it is deep; but it is black so everything shows.
