i'm old enough to remember these basses when they were new, but never owned one. curiousity finally got me and i bought this peavey t-40 a few months ago. it's in great shape with light signs of wear, but nothing that i could even capture in a pic. there are no functional issues at all and it plays and sounds great. these basses have the most interesting and useful passive tonal controls i've ever experienced. for the also curious, check these out and read the authors responses to comments: the secret sounds inside the peavey t-40 bass

and here's pics of my bass with a somewhat rare for these basses rosewood fingerboard:
as the pics show, it's missing the truss rod cover, but all else is original and intact, down to the metal (stainless, nickel?) nut. all the electronics and controls are also original and function as they should and as shown in the videos above. i'm unsure of the vintage, but the serial number is 00452583. it's heavy at a bit over 10 lbs, but not as heavy as i've read some of these to be. no case or bag is included, but i'll pack it well and ship it insured.
$400 including insured ground shipping within the conus. paypal preferred.
thanks for looking!
