Interesting.. is this a Bartaloini conversion vs the Ferrites?

Got one of these, a great bass at a great price. Don't see them too often.

Good luck!

Thanks, it is a great bass. The Bartolini pickups sound great and the active nature of it affords you tons of different sounds. I hope that this goes to a good home.. Also okay with keeping it if need be.

Hi MNAirhead,
No, I did not personally install them. Also not sure how to check to see what model they are. You are correct about the sound though.. Neck also plays smooth as silk too.

Your pickup rings look as if it was a direct replacement... ferrite TLS were often flush with the body

This bass is still up for grabs and I have positive feedback now too.... I may consider a trade for comparable 4 string bass.

Hi engage757,
No thanks but I really appreciate the offer. I may just end up keeping this. It really does have a premium neck. I just need to commit to learning my way around a 5'er.

N.F.A., would you consider a Peavey Foundation with a Hipshot D-tuner and some other items, including cash as a trade towards your TL-5? PM me if you are interested.

BUMP for the best bass ever made!!!!

I have played one of these for over 20 years, they are awesome!!

Someone out there needs to wise up and grab this one (they were originally $1,800)!!

I've traded with NFA.. great guy.. upstanding and trust worthy.

Kevin also just received one his basses -

Man this is tempting - can't have enough TLs.... I have barts on a GT7 (from a Tber) - crystal clear and warm.. I'd bet they'd be stellar on a TL5...

dang it... someone pick it up before I have to add onto my orphanage.. (as I'm trying to right size the stable)
