| NicJimBass | 01-03-2013 02:58 PM | FS: Peavey US Millennium 4 JJ $250 shipped Here's a bit of an odd duckling... a 2000 or 2001 Peavey US-made Millennium with a couple rare features- first, it's a dual J configuration which sounds awesome, and second, it's a factory Sea Foam Green finish. I've personally never seen another Mill in this finish, and I've seen quite a few. May have been a color they added just before discontinuing, I don't know.
Overall, this bass plays and sounds great, but there are a few issues. One- there is a decent-sized chip near the control cavity, on the back edge of the bass. Looks as though it was dropped at some point. It's not pretty, but it's also not really visible when playing. Two- the preamp is fully functional, but there are a few quirks- first, the threading on the shafts of 2 or 3 of the pots has been stripped. Not sure how that happened, but someone must've really worked on it the wrong way, as no you can't get a nut to stay on. I've had no issues with the preamp wanting to move or anything, but it's an issue and it's there. Second, the volume pot has something weird going on where it feels like there are 2 detents when you turn it. There is no loss of function at all, not drop outs, nothing, it just will stay in these two random spots until you turn it past them. Worst case scenario, you'll have to replace the pre, which is about $60 from Peavey (already requested a quote). Also, the control cavity it held on with a mish-mash of different screws, some factory, some not. Comes with off-brand straplocks.
It's a great bass, but I'm a 5'r guy at heart, so I don't want this to just sit and collect dust. I'm keeping the price low because of the issues- THIS WEEKEND ONLY -$250 shipped, packed well with a gig bag. PM me with anything. Better (closer) pics to come tonight or tomorrow. |
