FS Pedulla MVP 1988 4

Well I never thought I would even consider parting company with this bass, but times change. This has been my one and only bass for the last 19 years, until I bought an even older Fender Jazz. I don't know what it is, but I'm a one bass kind of guy and having two basses seems excessive, plus I'm just not playing my old Pedulla anymore. Add to it that I've got a little one (baby) on the way and I'm trying to build up some funds to lessen any financial anxiety. So with that said, here's the dealio on my Pedulla.

First, this is not for everyone who wants a Pedulla MVP, because unlike many boutique bass guitar owners, I never treated it with kid gloves, it's got wear. There's not an area that doesn't have some chip or ding, and that area by the J pick up, well one day all the finish wear was bugging me so I poured some shellac over it and needless to say, it didn't blend so hot. I'm going to take a bunch more pictures of the entire bass that show it in all in gory glory, but regardless of the wear, I still think it looks pretty darn awesome.

It plays fantastic, great low action that you can really dig into without clacking up a storm (something I can't do on my Jazz) The sustain is superb, the neck is straight and it weighs around 8.9 lbs on my cheap digital scale. It's got nice gold hardware that compliments the color, those red knobs are from an old synth but I have the original black ones too, plus the OHSC.

Anyhow, if there is any interest I will of course get more pictures and any info requested, I bought it used in 1991 and am the second owner, and the one who put all the wear on it. So I feel kind of bad putting it up on the block but if I can get a decent price then off to a new home it goes. If not, I'm happy to keep it in the family. It's tough to sort out the market value for it since it's got wear (which does not effect playability or sound) and that it's not a super collectible instrument. I'm asking $799 shipped, thanks!

Geeze, you could get it refinished and still pay at least a couple hundred less than what a used MVP normally goes for. Wish I had some extra cash.

Can you, please, send more pictures (back of the bass, the headstock, the case, the original knobs etc.)to my personal mail: vmihailoff2001@yahoo.com. I need to see in details and I am ready to buy it.A friend of mine lives in NYC and she could pay for me. Thanks.

PM's sent

I am going to take pictures later today an post them, probably not until the late afternoon.

For those interested in my bass but live outside of the US and want me to ship to a friend within the US, I will need details as to exactly what the situation is. I understand avoiding the expense of overseas shipping, or customs being a pain, etc. etc. but how will you eventually get the bass, since these addresses you want the bass shipped are still in the US? I've had several requests and want to make sure there's not something weird going on here.

Ok, thanks for all the great response, here's a link to a photobucket album I just made with some picture, maybe these will further entice, or deter. I will answer more questions later this afternoon, I have to run out to practice for a few hours. I tried to get all the main areas of the bass captured.

One note, the picture on the back is a painting by Velasquez I put on the bass when I first bought it 19 years ago. I was in art school and wanted some art on the bass. It's a postcard with double stick tape, it should be able to come off easily with care, and it's not hiding anything underneath. I do not want to take it off unless I definitely sell the bass. If I do not sell my bass, I want to keep it on for nostalgic reasons.

Other quick things, the truss rod cover I made, I can't find the original, it's pretty good though. I do not have the truss rod tool, but I always used a wrench, it's a standard size. No mods ever done on this guy. I'll be back with more info as needed.

Do you have the original knobs? I'm not really digging the red ones...

I do have the original knobs, also, the case (original) is in very good shape except the handle is held on with duct tape.

What kind of Rapture are you looking for? I have a nice JJ Rapture 4-string in black (looks really cool). A few dings but overall the condition is nice. Plays like a dream and very light! Maybe we can work out some 3-way trade.

Believe me it was my pleasure. I played the thing for hours last night, and for almost an hour today after work. So, thank you!
