Pete Hilton is the top builder for Carl Thompson for the around 10 years. This is as close to a Carl Thompson you can get without waiting or paying much more. The bass is incredibly light(around 6 lbs), has very low action, incredible growl and more volume than my active basses. The bass is in PERFECT condition.
Specs:
35" scale length
Mahogany body and neck
Bloodwood top and back
Flamed maple stripes and accents
Macc Ebony Fretboard with Bloodwood and Flamed Maple stripes
Black Walnut tone block
2 Kent Armstrong dual coils
Passive, with volume and tone knobs, Pickup splitter and volume bypass
The craftsmanship is INCREDIBLE!!! This is one of the easiest basses I have played and is so light and balanced, there is ZERO shoulder fatigue during gigging. I have only gigged with it once.
Tone: Growl!!! Yet it is versatile enough for any genre. Has a LOT of attack for soloing, but still has the clarity to sing. Great slap tone as well.
I'm getting rid of it to help pay for some home repairs.
Originally it was for sale on the Low End, bought by a fellow TBer and then sold to me. Brand new it cost $5500.
Trades considered:
Fodera
Carl Thompson
Modulus

I'm asking $3500/OBO shipped and insured CONUS. Make me an offer and lets see where we can go!
