I'm 2nd owner and bought this from Gelb back in ’97. This one has a master grade quilted maple top and was dipped in translucent red. Beautiful!!! Piano like tones.

The surface check only gloss deep, not down to the wood. There is also a crack along the finish on the bottom of the neck, it doesn’t interfere with playing and can’t be seen from the front. I have spoken to Joe and was told not to worry. Also, this model does not have a truss rod but in over the decade I have had it (multiple climates/etc.) it has not moved. Joe and crew build ‘em right!
