This is a high quality copy of a Steinberger L2..... I believe these were made for a couple of years, then they changed the shape to the Unicorn (played by Michael Manring here..... YouTube - Michael Manring: Funk & Disorderly) when they began licensing the design/hardware to Hohner, etc.
Headway Riverhead was a Japanese brand.... I do believe there are some threads on them here on TB. Mainly around during the 80s.
I've played most of the Steiny copies, Hohner, Washburn Bantam, etc, and it is a much finer instrument than most....
I believe it is alder with either an ebony fingerboard or the darkest rosewood I have seen. Takes double ball or regular strings. At one time it had some sort of pivot plate, but that is gone. The outer coat of paint is a little worn in places. There are small screw holes where a Steinberger leg rest can/was installed. Originally had a Neutrik locking jack (still there and probably works but in an odd spot), but previous owner wired up a new jack in the strap pin. Works great.
Asking $300 shipped. $250 w/o Anvil case
Cont. US only.

Reason: more info/price drop
I have one of these in black. It was my main gigging bass for a decade back in the 80's. I don't play it anymore as I'm into bigger basses, but I still have it for nostalgia and because it is as good as an L2 IMHO
BUMP for a nice piece.
