Re-listing my 1984, Japanese made Westone-Electra Phoenex precision style bass made in the legendary Matsumoku factory. The old post was cluttered and old so I could no longer update. It is gone and being replaced with this one.
I am TRYING to make room for some new things I bought and would like to move this on as I have quite a few P-style basses.
This bass is an absolute delight to play. Great P bass thump and traditional sound with a slightly less traditional look and a 1.5" nut for more of a J neck feel to it.
A flattened body with black finish and flat brass knobs, brass bridge and maple neck and fingerboard. DiMarzio-inspired pickup and fender style tuners. "Made in Japan" stamped on the neck plate.
The bass is in very good overall condition with just a couple of minor dings and one scuff on the rear of the body, all pictured. Overall nothing too abundant or serious. Most of the stuff you see is reflection as I took these pics at night under spot lighting and the stuff that is there is pretty well hidden by the black finish.
I currently own and have owned lots of matsumoku basses and can say that they are among some of the best made basses of the period. Great woods, great electronics and great craftsmanship. You always get a lot more for your omoeny in terms of woods, tone and craftsmanship.
This is a great value in any bass at the price let alone such a highly affordable vintage piece. It is sure to make a TB-er happy.
I am asking $200 shipped in the CONUS or best offer. Contact me first about international sales as we will have to work out a higher price to cover the significant cost of shipping abroad.
I don't have a case for this but if I can scrounge one up I will.
Pictures below, hope you like. If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks.
