This bass has been a project for a few TB'ers, but its finally complete and back to its original state. Some of you may remember this bass as its been listed for sale here a couple of times.
Long story short, the original owner changed the pre and pu's, cut about 1" off the top horn, and routed the neck pu to fit a mm style humbucker. He decided to refill the pu route, but didn't do a very good job. When I got it, the original pre and pu's were back in, but none of the wood work was done. Here's the thread I bought it from (there's a link to the original thread in here too) FBass BN5 $1500 shipped
My luthier finished the work on the pu route, reattached the top horn, and refinished it. The reattachment was done by drilling holes in both the body and what was left of the top horn, glued in a 1/2" dowel, and filled the gaps with a wood based filler putty. I had him take his time on it, he had it almost two years, just to be sure there weren't any shrinkage issues with the repairs. He then refinished in aged/olympic white nitro.
There are a few things to disclose so there's no surprises:
- Due to shortened preamp wires the bass is wired blend/vol/tone.
- One of the knobs is missing. I replaced with a dome knob since it was the closest thing I could find, but you can get a replacement from F Bass for about $20.
- You can see it in the pics too, but the cavity cover is a little whiter than the bass. He had some dust issues and didn't quite get the color matched. I didn't mind because its on the back.
- Its not noticeable at all, but is possible to make out the line on the pu refill. You have to tilt it just right to see it. I couldn't get it in a pic but I'll keep working on it.
- The neck has some wear from its previous life, but its nothing major. There is a small ding between the D and G string on the 1st fret. I had a hard time getting it on a pic, but the are some light scratches on the back and top side between the 9th and 12th frets.
It plays and sounds great, but I've realized I'm not a F bass guy. Everything works and functions 100%. Its a bit on the heavy side at 10lbs, but it balances very well. It ships in the original F bass gig bag. I'm just looking to get what I've got into it, so I'm asking $1800+shipping CONUS. As far as trades, I'm good in the bass dept, but I'd consider a nice acoustic guitar. Thanks for looking!

Good luck on the sale!
