Hi fellow low-enders,
I'm an on-again-off-again lurker, recent subscriber, and now first-time seller, though I wish that last part was under better circumstances. I'm truly saddened to part with this bass since we've barely gotten to know each other, but unfortunately, timing is everything and I just can't afford to keep it.
TL;DR version: Ribbecke Bobby Vega Halfling 4-string ABG, $4800 shipped to continental US
(due to the size and weight of the case, I really don't think international will be feasible)
Details:
- Ribbecke Bobby Vega Halfling 4-string acoustic/electric bass
- Red cedar top
- Ebony appointments (pickguard, bridge, tailpiece, soundhole cover)
- Figured maple sides
- Flame maple back
- Birds-eye maple neck (3-piece)
- Kent Armstrong floating pickup
- Ribbecke custom case

http://www.rgcguitars.com/BVB.html Why I'm selling:
I picked up this glorious instrument just a scant couple months ago as a "once-in-a-lifetime purchase" from a local bass shop. It took my wife some serious convincing, but we agreed that I could buy it on the understanding that, if for some reason we really needed the money, it would have to find another home. Well, timing
is everything and due to a host of recent financial factors (not the least of which being that our second child is on the way), the bass needs to go.
The good news is that it's essentially in the same immaculate shape that it was when I brought it home from the shop - I don't think there's a single ding or nick on the thing. Strings were brand-new with the shop's setup before I took ownership, though they also sent me home with the previous set of strings (still in the case). All of the case goodies (Allen wrench, case lock keys, New Owner's letter from Ribbecke's shop) are of course included, as well.
As this is my first time selling on TB, I know I'm an unknown commodity, but if you're interested in the bass, please PM or email me (bollenator-at-gmail-dot-com) and I'd be happy to provide whatever details you need to make you comfortable. I'd much rather sell it here to people who have an obvious love for quality instruments like this than on eBay where you really don't know what kind of buyer you'll get.
