The neck is a soft V-shape, 1.625" at the nut, and it is one of the greatest necks I've ever played. It has amazing fret access due to the lack of a neck heel. The Dimarzio-style reverse-P pickups are original to the bass, and they are quite good. Good volume, bright, and punchy.
The bass is in excellent condition with only a few minor dings around the back edges. Everything is in perfect working order and there is little fret wear. The bass was upgraded sometime in the past with Grover tuners and a Badass II bridge. According to a bathroom scale it weighs in at 8.6 lbs. It will ship in a generic but functional hard-shell case.
I'll let this one go for $340 Shipped to CONUS, or for trade items listed below:
[i]>Rickenfaker (Rickenbacker bass copy, 70s Japanese preferred)
>Peavey T-40
>Some kind of EB-0 or EB-3, copies okay
>Semi-hollow or hollow body bass, any brand
>Anything in Olympic White
>Random bass necks, bodies, other parts
>DSLR camera, Nikon or Canon preferred

The other unique feature of this bass is the fretboard, which is considerably darker than usual, and is also not glossy, as you might expect. I have no idea if this was a custom order or a mod, but I liked it enough to keep it that way. It should be very easy to buff it back to a shiny gloss, if that is your preference.
This has been my main player, and looks like it was someone else's main player before me. The horseshoe pickup cover is scratched on the top (as shown below), and the wood has the standard edge nicks and scuffs, but overall it is still in excellent playing condition (although it still looks beautiful hanging on the wall).
It is currently strung with Chromes, and it has that classic Macca vibe. It plays like a dream, and it can purr like a kitten or growl like a beast. You know you want it. $2000$1900 SOLD shipped to CONUS. It will be shipped in the standard RIC hardshell case it came in (the black one, not the silver one). This is a great chance to get your Chris Squire or Paul McCartney vibe at a below-average selling price, so don't sleep on it!

Please don't, though, because I could use the scratch!
Would also consider an EB-0 in a trade+cash deal...

| | | A v63 for 2K is a bargain, especially an early one, like this. Both from a collectors and a players point of view. You really sure you want to do this..? Anyways, best of luck with the sale, you're gonna make someone very happy!!!

By the way folks, I have a potential local buyer kicking the tires on the V63, but I'd rather see it go to a TBer, so I can see it in the forum from time to time! Hit me with a trade+cash if you're not quite flush--hey, you never know unless you ask, right?
P.S. New trade-wish-list items added to post #1!

I also added a small guitar combo to the possible trade list.
