Excellent condition, made in April '98. Slightly modded to look more vintage with Pickguardian pickguard, plexi finger rest, real mid '60s TRC, real '60s horseshoe pickup (built from early '60s parts), .0047µf cap in place, reshaped horseshoe pickup surround (not shown in this photo, but it looks more 1963, now), 7.4KΩ scatterwound toaster pickup, Schaller straplock buttons, RI vintage silver hardshell case.
$4000 plus packing & shipping to CONUS only. PM me for more details, thanks.
I have all the parts (TRC, pickguard, RI horseshoe pickup with original surround, vintage strap bolts) to put it back to stock (except for the original 12KΩ toaster) but the finger rest will be part of that package as the original pickguard has holes in it for the finger rest, already. This setup is $3000 including shipping to CONUS only.
There will be a significant discount for local cash paid pick up; I can drive a reasonable distance to meet with you.

Did you have the toaster and horseshoe done by Joey Vasco?

GOTTA bump!

Location make s a difference, too, as the toaster being 1/2" closer to the neck helps with producing greater natural harmonics since it is not directly under the "24th fret" string nodes. The horseshoe pickup adds the sweet grindy top end and nice mids that help create "that" sound.
The toaster pickup is a stock RIC item; the horseshoe pickup was built up from early '60s Rickenbacker parts, and the bobbin was wound to about 8.4 KΩ IIRC, by Dale Fortune, who used to work at Rickenbacker in the early to mid '70s.

Though the CS, the C64 and C64s are up there, when I played them, they really didn't sound or even feel much different than my toaster equipped 4003.
This bass is the ultimate Chris Squire tribute. I want it so bad but it would end up being a show piece. I could never gig it. I wish it was a little beat up and a little less expensive to justify the upgrade from my trusty Mapleglo.
