FS: ROB ALLEN DEEP 5 CUSTOM 33 SCALE

Sign in to disble this ad
Rob Allen - Deep 5
Special Options:
33 scale
Tuned E A D G C
Custom Tuners from Bass Legend Gary Willis
These are not the ones he has on his Ibanez Signature.
These were personally designed by Gary and from his private stock! See Pic ... these tuners are incredible and look as hip as they function.

I AM THE ORIGINAL & THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS BASS.
I contacted Rob a month or so ago and he recommended that I re-list the bass on the TB forum. He also provided me with this information to include. You can also contact him and refer to Deep 5 serial number 597 and he will confirm all this info.

FROM Rob Allen,
Hi Geno- good to hear from you. The woods are as follows:
alder body/koa top, koa/ebony neck, ebony f.b.build date was 5/2006.

Rob added this info:
This is a pretty rare bass, and the spectacular top on it would be an upgrade even over the already premium koa that comes on Deep 5 basses now.

Rob also offered this info so I could price it for sale based on replacement cost:

Here would be the replacement cost:
Deep 5 $4100, custom scale $500, exhibition koa top $500, total cost new $5100

This bass has been well kept --there are some ... - Hardly Visible - I don't wanna say scratches, but thin indents on the back from maybe buttons from my shirt. Looks like a pen point imprint . These basses don't have a thick coat of urethane so these things happen.

There is also a wear on the front that my thumb created above the e string - again ... not scratches, just the soft coating of Rob's clear finish. Again - hardly visible.

You can get plenty of mwah and people say it has an excellent upright-like tone. (It is not an upright though ... nor should it be compared to one ... it is its own awesome thing folks ..)

The piezo pickup is built into the bridge. For semi-acoustic basses, Rob Allen is the top of the heap, and this instrument is one of the finest examples of his work that you will ever find.

I will ship anywhere in the world as long as the buyer pays all shipping, insurance, taxes and related fees. The box is large so I will only ship via FedEx. I have great feedback on ebay GSGEAR so if you want to check me out please do.

I am not desperate to sell it so please don't low ball an offer to me.

Based on the info from Rob Allen above, I am asking $3,950.00

Please email me if interested:
lowend@optonline.net

Thanks for checking them out!
Cheers!
G

Yeah ...I agree Pac, but also understand its a lot of bread.

I believe it is a solid investment. This bass is such a joy to play. It's hard to put down when you pick it up ... lol.

I often get lost in the whole vibe of it when I play it, and end up being late for appointments - not many instruments have ever done that to me.

The other is my double bass ...

Thanks for chiming in

Looks like the picture was taken through the endpin hole - the soundpost is on the right, the bass bar is on the left.

yes! Great mind bender for non-bassist. Everybody thinks it's a storage space on a boat. LOL. It's my Thomas & George Martin 4/4 double bass. Incredible instrument. Thanks for commenting!
