FS: Rob Allen MB-2 5 String Fretless

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD: Immaculate Rob Allen MB-2 5 String Lined Fretless $1800 shipped CONUS

For sale is my Rob Allen MB-2 fretless bass-full acoustic tone-nice growl-great upright sound. B string is solid, neck and action perfect, sound is even and consistent across all strings and up and down the fingerboard. I bought this bass new from G Guitars in CT in Aug 2008. Not seen much play time, nearly perfect condition except for some slight wear on the back (nearly impossible to see and could not be photographed.) Other than that, I can't find one scratch or blemish. Comes with a solid Pro Tec soft shell case (the case it came in new.) I'm selling to thin the herd a bit.

Payment by PayPal only. Please, no trades at this time. PM for additional information. Thanks for looking!

Specs:

S/N 673
Ash body
Koa top and headstock
Striking figured ebony fingerboard
Maple neck
35" scale
19mm string spacing at bridge
Approx 7 lbs-you could play this all night
Lined fretless
Abalone side dots-added by Mike Lull
Fishman piezo pickup system

.
Wow, Ted, this is a great offering. I have played two of these basses and was truly impressed. It was quite some time before my current Veillette instruments, so I could not offer a helpful comparison, except to say that there is a lot of exacting forethought and TLC that goes into these basses. Very very well put together instruments!

I am absolutely sure that the buyer will be over the moon with this bass.

Good luck to all.

my goodness, that is a nice bass guitar. I have a Veillette lined fretless 5, although it's not my main bass. The one you're selling looks extremely nice, just not sure where it would fit in with me. The price seems very fair.

Hi all:

Thanks for all the kind words-and thanks for the support Kevin!

Yes, Chuck3, those are La Bella black nylon tapewounds. They provide a great acoustic, upright-like tone to this bass.

Lots of interest and a potential pending sale. Ted

Beautiful bass. Hard to imagine letting one like this go.

Please send the new owner to the "show us your rob allen basses" thread.

We'd love to see more photos of this gorgeous bass.
