FS: Roscoe Century Standard 5 String

Sign in to disble this ad
For Sale - Century Standard 5 String Fretted Bass. Black Onyx Swamp Ash body with Maple neck and finger board.

Only, and I mean only reason I am selling this bass is because I have 2 other Roscoe basses and a Modulus Q5. This was my first Roscoe purchased from G Guitars in New Haven,CT in September 2009 and has only been gigged out with 8-10 times. No dings or blemishes of any kind. Plays like a dream, only problem is that I have too many basses and only so many gigs.

Comes with Roscoe gig bag (original) and is strung with SIT Rock Bright Nickels. $1,600 - shipped in Conus.

Specs as follows:

Roscoe Century Standard 5 String Fretted Black Onyx
Maple Neck / FB
Swamp Ash Body
Bartolini Pick ups - Classic Bart
Bartolini NTMB Pre amp w/ treble, bass and push-pull mid (standard Roscoe config.)
Dunlop Strap Locks
18 mm String Spacing (I believe)
Wt- 9.0 lbs
Ultra light weight satin chrome tuners
Hipshot "A" style bridge - satin chrome

Pics:

Check, Money Order or Paypal. Anyone in MA can hook up with me to play her if interested.

Thanks for looking and feel free to PM me with any questions.

Pete

Bump for a wonderful instrument and a terrific breed of cat doing the selling. These things play like butter and sound even better. All the best with the transaction!

Pete, Thank goodness your not selling the fretless CS.

Folks you won't find a better guy, or a Roscoe at a better price

Too many Roscoes! Nice problem to have, 'eh?

God Bless, Ray

Hey drdunwoody, if you want I can try to email you better pics. The body is all Swamp Ash and I believe they use a light oil to "enhance the grain". Fabulous finish, easy to keep clean and really cool to the eyes. I have it's twin as a fretless and I am not selling that!

Let me know if you want the pics emailed and if you have any questions, be happy to obllige.

Thanks for the kind words fellow R'heads - y'all make my head swell!

drdunwoody, The finish is a Satin Gloss. It doesn't shine, but it doesn't have the softness or the maintenance of oil. The grain enhancement is done with a chemical that attacks the raised grain and turns it white.

You won't find a better value in a modern 5 string. Everything is USA made, and all the woodwork is done in house in Greensboro, N.C.

God Bless, Ray

Hey Pete, If I buy this, I'd have to change the hardware to Gold, just so I could tick Gard off.

WHO DAT!

God Bless, Ray

Nor does it show fingerprints, or easily show swirls, scratches, or other effects of aging or boo-boos. If you're going to have a black bass, this is the one!
