Selling my beloved Roscoe!
It's one of the early Century flat top (not the standard model).
Ash with Bubinga (water fall extra $). Maple neck with Ebony FB (extra $). It has a 19mm (extra $) string spacing. Special hardware black/chrome (extra $). Demeter preamp (extra $). Original Bartolini.
It has a single switch for parallel/single/series. Totally shielded (pups cavities are not shielded from the shop). Original hard case.

The bass is in excellent shape, just a tiny wear in the "slap" area (it can be seen in the pics).
It plays like a dream. The neck is, in my experience, one of the best (if not the best) on the market. The fret job is a work of art!
The action can be set so stupid low.....  more pics

The basic sound is very tight and bright with a lot of snap.
The ash/bubinga with ebony fb give a little nasal honky sound with the original bartolini pre.
That's why there's a Demeter pre. It's smoother and a little scooped, but it still has a very tight and crispy sound.
This bass has punch for days, with a very clean lows and bright highs.
The mids reminds me of a Music Man Sting Ray (with the pups in parallel).
The single coil is more similar to a jazz bass but with less bottom
(the placement of the pups is very determinant for the sound. The roscoe basses have the neck pup placed closer to the bridge than most of the "standard" traditional basses).
The series setting is more traditional Roscoe, fat and thick.
Honestly this bass can do everything you want and more... I'll see if I can post a sound clip here.

thank you very much for your words, appreciated.
This bass is a killer one, literally.....
...so why I'm selling it?
...because since I've got my "dream" bass (Ambush) and my "new" Nordy,
I'm covered and I'm not using this Roscoe any more (shame on me, I know!!!)...
and plus I have the opportunity to get another Ambush, so I need cash........
anyway, let's see, I'll be willing to consider offers, if reasonable (although this price is already stupidly low!) |

When I got this bass (few years ago) lots of people asked me to sell it to them....
It is very unique, both sound and built wise.
I don't know how many Roscoe with this satin finish over ash there are around. I love the way you can feel the grain on the body...
The sound is super tight and growly, but with plenty of sizzle.
