Recently had this bass up for trade but did not receive any suitable offers. I am now placing the bass for sale.
I am the original owner of this Roscoe which was built to my custom specs in Feb 2013 and was received in August 2013. Simply put, I am in search of a different tone than I can get with the Roscoe. I have brought the bass to practice on a number of occasions and have yet to take it to a gig.
The fit/finish/playability is perfect. Exhibition walnut top/swamp ash body. Standard maple/purpleheart/maple neck with highly figured birds eye maple fingerboard. Bartolini soapbar pickups and Aguilar three-band boost/cut OBP-3 pre-amp. The walnut top came from the same section of wood as Jimmy Haslip's recently made bass (these are the only two basses from that figured walnut).
I restrung the bass with DR Sunbeams just last night to include in the sale. Roscoe hardcase and original paperwork to also be included.
I am looking to finance the purchase of a custom Jazz-style bass so would like to sell this Roscoe for $2900 as described above. Buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance costs. The bass is essentially new, having been played only a handful of times and had a price tag of over $3600 back in Feb when I ordered it. There are no dings, scrapes, scratches of any kind to the body/neck/fingerboard.
Some subtle loss of black coloration to the B-string tuner on the shaft from changing out strings is the only imperfection I can find. Asking price: $2900. Buyer pays for shipping/insurance.
