Well, I thought I'd be buried with this bass. But there's a good chance that my company will close its doors before the end of the year. Time to get my priorities straight...
Although no Roscoe could ever be considered ordinary, this one is definitely special, and absolutely 100% one of a kind. I spent the better part of two years trying to figure out exactly how I wanted it built, and it turned out better than I ever could've hoped.
Specs:
LG3005 - fretted - 35" scale. Born January 28th, 2010.
Absolute mint condition
Exhibition-grade Bubinga top
Maple accent layer
Purpleheart plate underneath that
Swamp Ash body
Matching exhibition-grade Bubinga back
Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck
Spalted Purpleheart fingerboard (EXACTLY 50/50 split sapwood)
Spalted Purpleheart 12th fret inlay, reversed/mirrored with the sapwood line
Diamondwood nut
Black hipshot hardware
Bartolini CB pickups
Bartolini NTMB preamp - custom spec'd with a 3 way midrange frequency selector switch instead of the standard push/pull.
Comes with original hardshell case, tools, etc.
I love this bass, and it breaks my heart to sell it... But I gotta..
Asking $2400 shipped.

Every time it comes out of the case, people want to talk about it. On gigs, it draws a lot of looks. I can't remember a show where people haven't stopped me to ask about it.
With this thing, you can't really be the anonymous bass player...

I sincerely hope something else turns up for you before this baby leaves your hands.
On one hand, I REALLY admire what you're doing, OTOH it sucks that you have to sell such a special bass.
If you do have to sell it, make darn sure the buyer gives you a "first-refusal" option when they decide to sell.

Gard really went out of his way for me on this one. All I asked for, was to have the sapwood line split the inlay as close to 50/50 as possible. What does he do? He finds me the only piece I've ever seen that goes 50/50 all the way across! It's such a killer bass, and in my extremely biased opinion, the best looking Roscoe I've ever laid eyes on.
