and here laying down some gospel.
This bass is very beautiful aesthetically and tonally. I have always gotten compliments on this Box-elder top (not sure if that is still an available option for top). This Roscoe can achieve a wide variety of tones from upright-like dark to Jaco snappy. The string spacing is 18.3 mm and the scale is 35". I also would like to add that I have played all of the Roscoe body styles and for a six string the SKB sits just right on a strap. (don't have to stretch too far for first position).
My favorite thing about this bass is the neck. Absolutely one of the most comfortable necks I have ever played. Diamondwood is a great fingerboard wood as well. Easy to get a great singing vibrato. There are a few dings as you can see in the pics. Also, there a custom inlay I had them do near the horn, it simply reads "Jaco". However, it is hardly noticeable. 9/10 condition. The bass is very lightweight under 9 pounds. This is truly an exceptional fretless. It has been played on many recordings and left the sound engineer smiling!
I reserve the right to come to my senses and take this down.:bassist: Also, I will listen to trade offers, but much more interested in making an outright sale unless its a Fodera NYC, Sadowsky, or Fender Custom Shop Jazz
Here is my photobucket which has about 15 pics of the bass
Not interested in the bass.... but I did check out many of your YouTube vids. Your playing is a gas......nice. Good luck to you.
Thanks guys will post a few more pics later
Why do these always come up right before property tax payments are due!?
Trying to see how to shuffle accounts to make this possible...
That's Wilmington, DE ?
Bump. Man that is a beautiful sounding fretless... fat and burpy and growly. Beautiful playing also. Good luck with the sale.
These basses are such a good deal, and that Bart pickups stacked close to the bridge is a dream for a fretless player who wants all the midrange articulation and warmth.
Bump! I too have a Roscoe fretless and it kills. Good luck with the sale. BTW- I checked out your website; regarding the pic of you and Jeff Sipe, the guitarist in the green Mt. Dew T-shirt looks A LOT like Tony who works for Roscoe. Any chance?
Hey Pete that is our guitar player Mike Seal in the Jeff Sipe Trio. Check us out www.jeffsipetrio.com Our debut album will be coming out soon!
Someone should buy this bass. This cat might be famous someday, and that will give you something to post about on Talkbass!
Edit: In the 'small world' category, I spent many years playing behind Jan Shapiro. Did you know her when you were at Berklee?
I can vouch for this seller and this bass. Taylor is not only my good friend, but is definitely the real deal! GREAT PLAYER and GREAT GUY! I have had the pleasure of hearing him play this bass on numerous occasions and it kills! Everything that I like about Roscoe is present in this bass. Taylor is what I consider a prodigy and is a real monster player as should be evident from his videos. He is very likely to be famous some day. He has done some exciting work, including some recordings for me and subbed for Felix Pastorius so you know the pedigree is there. If you are looking for a bass that is anywhere near this spec I HIGHLY recommend it!!! Good luck with the sale son! You know I got your back if you need me!
