| soxhats | 01-09-2013 09:49 AM | FS: Sadowsky Metro MV4 (Black/Maple, Extras)! SOLD I must go on a diet, and am making some very painful choices. For sale is a wonderful Sadowsky MV4 (there’s a redundant phrase – “wonderful” and “Sadowsky”) in black/maple. Ash body. Hum-canceling pickups (quiet as a mouse). Based on the serial number, the bass was made in late 2009. I purchased her from Atlanta Bass Gallery in August 2012. Neck is perfect. Action is set low. Just a spectacular bass in sound, look and feel, the legendary Sadowsky quality in full evidence. Price: $1,750 $1,700 shipped.
The bass has a Hipshot detuner with the Sadowsky imprint that I purchased from Sadowsky. (The original tuner is included in the sale.) Complete Strap-Lok system is included. The bass is wearing Sadowsky Blue Label Steels. You also get the Sadowsky soft-sided case. Weight: 9 pounds 4.5 ounces on my fancy digital scale without the detuner; 9 pounds 5.7 ounces with the detuner. Balances extremely well.
The bass has a few minor love bites. You have to look hard to see them, but I believe in explicitly describing every detail of gear for sale. There’s a small ding on either side of the input jack and a pinhead-sized paint chip on the rear. These are pictured in the photos. There also are a few pinhead-sized impressions on the front of the body – too minuscule to photograph. Pickguard has some swirling. There is no buckle rash.
One other thing I’ll mention: The VTC control has always seemed a tad loose to me, but it’s never been a problem and Roger Sadowsky himself said, “That's the way that batch of pots were. They work fine and it is nothing to worry about. There is nothing to tighten.” (From this thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/clu...1/index20.html).
PayPal. Continental 48 only. No trades, with one specific possible exception: A Fender Road Worn Jazz weighing 8 ½ pounds or less plus cash. |
