Why pay more for a Metro when you can have one of Roger's original NYC basses for less?
This is a great Sadowsky NYC (NOT Metro) jazz bass for sale. It sounds and plays amazing. It's one of the older Sadowsky with the slightly thinner neck profile, and is very light weight (just under 9 lbs) and easy to play. According to Roger Sadowsky, this bass originally was seafoam green. The previous owner had it refinished in 1998 and had the old EMG pickups replaced with new Sadowsky HC pickups, and the newer Sadowsky preamp with VTC installed. The toggle switch is the active/passive bypass. Bass also had Hipshot Drop-D detuner installed by Sadowsky. It is strung with new Sadowsky nickel roundwounds. Bass is in great shape, with a few very tiny blemishes near the truss-rod access, and a couple superficial swirls and superficial scratchs on the back that I couldn't get to show on the pics. The neck is in great shape - straight and has only needed a truss rod adjustment a couple times during season changes. No fret sprout, and no noticeable fret wear. Has Volume - Pan - VTC - and stacked Bass/Treble cut/boost control knobs, with active/passive bypass. Comes with the standard Sadowsky form-fit rectangular case. Case has one small tear along a corner seam, all zippers and pockets are fine.
Why am I selling it? I have recently commissioned a new upright bass to be made, and I need to sell my old Juzek upright bass, and couple electric basses to finance the purchase. I have another Sadowsky bass already, so I need to thin the herd. I also will be selling a Pedulla Thunderbolt as well. They are all great basses, but I can only justify having so many. If it weren't for the fact that I have another Sadowsky, I would never sell this one. It plays like a dream, and the morado fingerboard is just beautiful.
