no trades except a Smith BT6
unusal color: Midnight Wine
Morado/alder
only reason to sell is I got a maple/ash and that seems to be my thing.
Bass is in good shape. It's been played but not bars or on the road, Some pickguard swirls and has some dings on headstock, and one in between the tone knob and bridge, but it's not a bad one.

pic before I bought it

Currents pics with some dings:

Why would you black out the last two digits of the serial number?

Roger

are you sure that's rosewood and not morado? Looks like Morado to me...but I'm no expert, and it could just be the picture.

It's visible in a later pic in the Photobucket link, though. #3823 (though I'm sure Roger already knew that).

Bump. My main axe is a morado/alder NYC P/J, with 24-fret board. It's the best!

Blacking out the Serial # I guess I did it because I have seen some other adds fuzz out their serials in some sort of scam prevention. Yeah, you can look at all the pics in my Photobucket album and see the serial #.

When I bought this Back in 2008 from AJ Brown, I wrote Dragonbass (I think) at Sadowsky and he said it was built in 2002 and should have the graphite in the neck.
He also said it should have the universal route, but I never checked.

As far as rosewood vs morado, I thought they were the same, but just morado was South American and rosewood, like most think of, is from India. So thanks for pointing that out to me, but I just thought of it as one of the 2 main "types" of Sadowskys.

Roger or someone that knows, any comment on the fingerboard woods?

As far as weight, it is lighter than the one I recently got from sok monkee. It was listed at 8.6lbs, and providing that was accurate, this one is definitely lighter.

I can't tell from the photos, is it a trans finish or is it a solid color?

Thanks.

I must say I do love this color...If I didn't already have an alder/morado Metro I'd be in trouble.

It's transparent, but with Alder there isn't much grain to show through.
And yes pOk, the color is what drew me in on this one.

Morado or Pau Fero is brighter(Snapper) sounding than a rosewood board.I think it really works well for me on a Alder body bass. Not as snappy at Maple or Ebony board and not as Dark as Rosewoods.
