FS: PRICE DROP - $2850 - Sadowsky NYC Ultra-Vintage 4 Coral/Salmon

Sign in to disble this ad
2002 or 2003 Sadowsky NYC Ultra-Vintage 4 Coral/Salmon w/matching headstock - $2850 shipped conus. Beautiful instrument. Sadowsky case, pickup cover, tort and white guard (white guard is on the bass now).

I've used this a lot on live gigs and sessions since I bought it this past spring. You may remember this from when Brian had it at TheLowEnd. I'm coming from years of playing older sadowskys and the neck profile is a little different. It is in gorgeous shape, but has two small dings that hopefully you can see from the pics. No complaints at all from me, I'm just not in love with it.
Here are the specs from the Sadowsky website. It was one of their "featured" basses for a while. It is officially an "Ultra-Vintage" but it has the smaller Sadowsky body rather than the full-size J body:

Style: Ultra Vintage 4-string *
Finish: Coral Salmon Pink
Wood: Alder
Fingerboard: Brazilian Rosewood, 9” radius
Pickguard: Tortoise
Hardware: Chrome
Pickups: Sadowsky Single Coil J
Weight: 8-1/2 lbs.

Comments:
Matching headstock, 20 frets, vintage tone control,
chrome pickup cover included.

* STANDARD SIZE SADOWSKY BODY (smaller than ultra vintage model bodies).

USPS money order or Paypal accepted. I would also consider trades for other NYC vintage model sadowskys in the same condition ('99 or earlier would be great!)

Re:

Thanks for the interest and thanks to thisSNsucks for reminding me about the different body size. You guys are on top of things around here!

Hope the new info helps. I've decided that I only want stuff around that I play all the time -- this bass is too killing to lay around not being played.

I agree, going by the pics, that it looks a little more like Fiesta Red. The bass in my avatar is definitely FR, and side by side the sadowsky is definitely more salmon colored. Tort or white pg makes a big difference (white pg makes it appear more pink), but it's hard to nail down a consistent pic with this bass for some reason. Coral Salmon Pink is the sadowsky site description.

Well, I guess that's a good enough excuse to get together.

I may be playing in your neck of the wood soon.
Or you could come down next April as I will be playing on a bill with Maceo Parker. That could worth a trip. If you like Funk

I'd love to make it down to hear your band. And in a heartbeat I'd be there to hear/see Mr. Parker. But my new job has be on the road fairly close to 100% of the time. I can't say where I'll be at that time.

But one of these days I'd really love to check out your Sadowsky finery. You have one of my favorite set of musical tools this side of the East Coast as far as I'm concerned. And the new-to-you one you just snatched up makes it that much finer.

And I'm a funk nut fool.
