I am selling my Sadowsky NYC Ultra Vintage Jazz, Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock. Brazilian rosewood board, chambered body, Sadowsky humcancelling pickups, VTC, with Sadowsky ultralight case. I am the original owner, purchased new in 2003.

Bass is super light (8.5 lbs. on my bathroom scale) and in flawless condition except for one paint chip on the matching headstock, which is visible in the pics. Had a run-in with a ceiling fan

on my second day of ownership. No damage to the wood, and the Sadowsky shop recently quoted me $300 (plus 6-8 weeks out of service) for a refin. Not worth it to me, but it's an option if it bugs you.
This bass would run $4125 new, after at least a six month wait. It's an incredible bass, and the Sadowsky craftsmanship is impeccable, but with two little kids I don't play much these days, and when I do I have a Stingray and a P that get more attention. I bought this bass as a 40th birthday present to myself when I was looking for the ultimate J bass, but I've finally realized that I can't justify having this much money tied up in a bass that's not my #1. I'm looking for $2,900 shipped in the continental US. I'll consider shipping elsewhere if the buyer makes the arrangements and pays the difference in shipping costs. I can take Paypal or cashier's checks/money orders. I haven't done much buying and selling here on TB, but you can check my 100% feedback rating on ebay (username is glisker).
I'd prefer a straight sale, but I'll consider trades for a Fender Custom Shop Jazz (passive 4-string) or a similar quality P/J 4 plus cash on your end. The only high end bass I'd be interested in is a Dingwall Super J 4 or P/J 4. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!
