This is a Sadowsky RV4-59 Burst. Serial M1452. I purchased it new from Sadowsky in November 2006.The bass has the VTC (Vintage Tone Control). It plays very well, with the classic Jazz bass sound and feel. The bass has been played out a dozen times (all smoke-free environments), otherwise has stayed in its case in my house (also smoke-free). The bass has not been modified. The body and neck are in excellent condition. With the Sadowsky softcase and the fact sheet for the control knobs.

I am reducing my collection of basses from 5 to 2, I just don't play enough anymore to keep all 5. Price is US $1675, shipped and insured, con. US only. Sale only, no trades.

If I can sell my cabinet tomorrow, I think I'll be taking this off your hands....

Thanks for your interest, I wish i knew more of the details. The fingerboard is rosewood I believe. It is not a 'light' bass, i have two NYC Sads both in the 9lb range, and this Metro is noticibly heavier.

If there is a angle or close up picture you want to see, I can take that photo and post it on this thread.

The RV4s are either maple/ash or morado/alder and should have the 60's spacing on the pickups.

The Metros will be a bit heavier since they aren't chambered like it's NYC bretheren but they typically aren't all that bad in weight. The Sadowsky basses are all very well balanced and very comfortable on a strap. I have a really early RV4 that I just love.

This a really sweet looking Metro...I think, from what I can see in the photo. I like the more muted tort guard.

Not a bad price at all on this bass and maybe a bit on the low side. I would definetly post more photos.

I'm the metro line of Sadowskys, ALL RV/RS basses have alder bodies and Morado fingerboards. (also known as pao farro)

The ash/maple Metros are the MV/MS models.

Both have 60s spacing.

This bass is alder.

. The 70s spacing Sadowsky Metros are the UV series. Those also feature a full sized body and bound necks.

Getting tempting now. Morado, Alder, VTC, $1,500. Not my favorite finish but not the worst I've seen.
