Update: PRICE DROP - $2000 shipped!
I am selling my recently purchased Skjold Custom Offset '92 to make way for a custom build. I bought this bass in March from BIGREDSIX and his description was spot on so I will shamelessly copy/paste from his ad.
Specs:
Ash Body
Flame maple top / headstock
Bubinga fretboard
5 piece maple/Purpleheart neck
Zero fret
35" scale
18mm spacing
12" radius at the nut and 18" at the 24th fret
Skjold split coil pickups
Skjold/East preamp
Dunlop strap locks
~ 8 lbs (very very light and well balanced)
Ships in a padded Levy's gig bag also in mint condition.
This is a phenomenal, world class instrument in MINT condition. Pete Skjold told me that a new build with these options would run $4000. I am selling this one for $2000 shipped FedEx ground to anywhere in the lower 48 US. Paypal is the preferred method of payment.

Extremely low action - in fact this has been raised from what BIGREDSIX was using but there was no buzzing when the action was set even lower
Even more flames...and laundry

Check out what people are saying about this bass - it plays like butter and is probably the most versatile bass I've ever owned.

F-Bass BN5
Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5 Ash/Maple (+cash from me)
Millennia TD-1 (+cash from you)
Possibly an Accugroove El Whappo Jr or Bergantino AE410 (both +cash from you)
My first choice is still to sell this outright.

Great-looking bass with a seemingly very versatile pre. It has been running through my mind for a couple of days now, which usually means trouble.

It has been running through my mind for a couple of days now, which usually means trouble. | Just wanted to reiterate that although there are pics of some famous talkbass players playing this bass, it is in MINT condition - In fact I cannot find a flaw on it and I'd say that's a tribute to BIGREDSIX taking such excellent care of the bass while he had it.
The sweepable mids and 4 position selector knob do make this bass very versatile. Position 2 (both pickups in series) is probably my favorite position because it is punchy as hell, but its always nice to go from nice fingerstyle punch to a great slap sound just by switching to position 3 (both pickups parallel).
If my wife would allow me to keep more than one bass at a time, this would definitely not be for sale. |
