This a new version of the classic Skjold "92 design, this one is a 2010 build, sports a very compact design and is superbly comfortable to wear. The new neck profile is slim and really fast and easy to play with 26 frets of notes and a slick Morado fingerboard.
Electronically this bass features custom Skjold SC1 neodymium pickups that have a wide frequency response that are very sensitive to the players attack and style. The controls are Volume - Blend - Bass/Mid/Treble - Active/Passive (push/pull on vol) and Mid Selection Switch. Order time on a custom build is 12 months.
The bass has one defect, the bass originally shipped with passive circuitry which i swapped out for a Bart 5.4 pre-amp and the wood chipped around the mid switch during installation, it's not something you'll see from a meter or two away but it's not pretty up close, the last picture captures it perfectly. Doesn't effect the function or playability of the bass at all. Other than that the bass is perfect, no chips or dings any where else, neck is straight, truss works a treat and the action can go SUPER LOW !!!!!. This bass is freakishly light, just 7.5 pounds.
34 inch scale
19 mm string spacing at bridge (adjustable from 18.5mm - 19.5mm)
•Premium grade Ash body
•Blue Green burst satin finish
• 26 Fret Morado fingerboard
•Black hipshot hardware - ultralight tuners, A style bridge
•2 x SC1 pickups - split single coil custom design
