FS- Spector NS 2 Brooklyn Cherry Sunburst

I am selling my Brooklyn Spector NS2. Try this link to see large photos [img]http://S1021.photobucket.com/albums/af339/60sbassguy/[img]. It is in near perfect condition. There is a small area where the finish looks slightly bumpy. This is where my hand would rest on the body. I am an amateur who used this a few days a year in my house or with friends. It has been wiped clean after each use and kept in case, thus the near perfect condition. The serial number is in the 900's and confirmed by Spector to be Brooklyn made.
Until I get pictures up, it is the bass in "spector age vs. sound" starting post, but those pics don't show the color well, nor do they show the shine of the finish.
I tried to ask questions of members about pricing, delivery that assures buyer it is as stated, and protects me, but forum rules dictate that I must post the message as a for sale with an asking price. So, I am going to say the asking price is $4500. I don't know if it is worth this amount, but it is an honestly near perfect Brooklyn NS 2. (don't be offended by the asking price. I am flying blind here, but I won;t jump at low offers. Hopefully I will be told what the value is by a few people) Pictures will follow, but you can expect a bass without chips, dents, scratches other than fine scratches that are at the surface shine level, such as from polishing.

I'd say $2500 -$3000 would be reasonable- $2500 would be really fair $3000 would be on the pricey side... check with Todd Coke (www.spectorworld.com) he is really knowlegable. The red Brooklyn in my avatar pic I had since I was 18 and I wouldn't sell it for $10,000 so it all in the eyes of the beholder I guess!

Will you take $9k???

Seriously, I understand. I bought this bass because it "fit" me so well. I had never heard of Spector at that time. All I knew was this bass was PERFECT for me.

Over the past couple of years, I have thought both of selling it and never selling- it at any price.

I will never have one like this ever again. That's tough to swallow. But selling will help me buy a car for my son when he gets his license, and he is the most important thing in my life- even though he is tone deaf!

Agreed. What most people did not see is that I had originally posted a message saying I was thinking of selling but wanted advice about selling, pricing, who can be trusted etc. etc. This was how I was doing my homework, asking the most expert Spector owners, collectors and bass enthusiasts- the members of Talkbass.

But little did I know that I was not allowed to just ask for info.

The post was removed saying that I could ask for info regarding a possible sale, without putting an actual post in the "for sale" section and that it was REQUIRED that the listing have a price.

So, in order to get info before deciding how to sell and at what price, I had to actually put it up for sale and had to pull an asking price out of my (b)ass... yes, out of my bass!

So, fellow Talkbass members, I did want to turn to you for advice and "do my homework on my bass" but I was stopped. I wanted to post the questions to all who read the bass threads. So now only those reading for sale listings will be able to give me advice.

I understand Talkbass's reasons. But please understand why I am ask questions that I should have known before putting it up for sale. I tried to.

Dan

Since you are a supporting member, you can post a thread in the "basses" section asking pricing advice.
The "for sale" section is just that.

I misinterpreted the message I received. I was non-supporting at the time. It said "Non-supporting members are not allowed to post topics about the price of an item they'd like to sell, nor can you item for sale in the basses forum." I took the last half to mean that items that were planned to be sold in the future could not be discussed in the basses forum.

I stand corrected (and now a supporting member).

All are flash, so color is a bit off. I will try to take a natural light photo.
