FS: "SPECTOR SPECTORCORE PIEZO" SEMI-HOLLOWBODY FRETLESS, RARE, BLACK, 4 STRING, MINT

Sign in to disble this ad
This Cool Spector Professional Series™ SpectorCore Piezo™ Fretless Bass is able to get some really unique tones, similar to an upright bass its due to the mixture of the Fishman Piezo Bridge™pickup and the guitar's semi-hollow body construction. It also has another single dual humbucking EMG SSD™ pickup at the neck... and thats why this bass gives you such a wide-range of possible tones. It also is really easy to play with a fairly thin neck( seems a little thinner than a Fender Jazz Bass... see here for specs and more info on this bass http://www.spectorbass.com/professio...ctorcore4.html ). I just got this bass in the past couple of months, its never left the house , barely left the box it came new in, and is in absolutely mint showroom condition as its only been played a few times. I can put up more pics if requested but it looks brand new! I like it but I also just bought another Micheal Tobias Fretless which I prefer...so I'll sell this for the steal price of 575.00...sorry no trades. Also I've been told that you may not be able to get this model in black any more. I'll be leaving the country for about 9 days starting Sunday the 19th in the early am...so if you're trying to reach me and I'm not answering, thats why...I may get access to a computer while I'm gone but I'm not going to count on it...Its my vacation and I'll be chillin...Peace...DAcat

Kind of crazy that it is 35" scale...

Can you explain the control layout?

Sorry for taking so long to respond...I'm still out of the country...this bass has a separate volume control knob for the Piezo PUP and another knob that controls volume for the EMG PUP. Each pup also has a single knob to control tone adjustments...the semi-hollow body gives it a lot of its rich tones though....peace...DAcat

Did you ever wish your fretless had more tonal possibilities...like, being able to get a sound close to that of an upright double bass, as well as the classic electric fretless sound? Well... now you can....peace...DAcat

Curious about this but the longer scale throws me off...how about the piezo? Does a regular looking bridge make a different sound then acoustic style bridge?

Actualy I never even realized this was a 35" scale bass till I read the specs and I have small hands and arms( 5'7")...it plays like a smaller bass. The piezo pickup can be on, off, or blended as you wish...it gives a woodier warmer tone over all-but the tone control can make it soft or sizzle-whichever you prefer. I don't think the bridge has much to do with the tone. I think the Semi Hollow body design of a wooden body helps give it the richer tone though. The EMG humbucker PUP gives you more of the classic electric bass tone which you can blend with or without the piezo pup. Feel free to ask more if that did'nt answer your question. Peace...DAcat
