SOLD Squier Deluxe Active Jazz Bass V Sunburst - $220 (+ actual shipping) CONUS Paypal Confirmed Address

You may already know, these basses have gained a great reputation in terms of bang for the buck, stock tone and playability. Active 9v three-band EQ with "slap switch" tone preset. Maple neck with ebonol fingerboard.

34" Scale
2.008" at the nut
12" Radius

This bass is in excellent condition - less than a year old. I think it's a particularly nice example in terms of color, grain and finish. The B string is nice.

I got it for back-up and while I generally like the neck feel, I've decided that I'd like to have a less drastic difference in feel from my Brute (narrow/slim at the nut). It'd be nice to have two Brutes, but that's not in the cards right now.

The headstock decal is a waterslide and has not been sprayed over with polyurethane.

Just out of curiosity, are the original headstock decals also waterslides?

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question. If you're asking if Squier waterslides are available, I have no idea.

If you're asking if the type of application of the original decals is waterslide, I don't know how it's done, but I feel pretty sure it's some other method. A waterslide involves applying the logo to a clear film and the film is then applied to the target. From doing the removal, I'd say the original application was ink/paint, directly on to the headstock...I'm sure in whatever way is effective and efficient for quantity production.

Ok. The question could be phrased as follows:

How was the original decal applied, and how did you remove it?

Since it appears that you have done a very clean job of removing it, I thought there was a chance that the original decal was a waterslide decal. Having never done it, and not considering mass production tecniques, I was curious. You've answered the question.

If you're thinking about doing something to your bass, the complete answer is that I used a product called Goof-Off and a Q-Tip. The Goof-Off broke down the ink/paint just enough that it could be completely rubbed clean with some effort. If the logo had been sprayed over (which I know some are), it wouldn't have worked.

For a naked headstock, which I think would look killer on this bass, there would be a small amount of sanding or maybe steel wool finishing necessary.
