Jag-ision? Preci-guar? I dunno, but it's what's left over after my three-way Squier neck swap. I'm keeping the slender-necked Jazz and P basses (see
this thread), but this Jaguar got the Precision neck, and it's just not my favorite combination of the three
P-necked Squier Jaguar bass -- $250 SOLD LOCALLY!
A perfectly serviceable P-J pickup config, stacked tone and volume pots for each pickup, and a very nicely done P-bass neck with a 1 5/8" nut width, rosewood board, and really nice fret work.
I'm the second owner of the Jag, and it's in excellent condition. I jammed with it twice in stock trim, and once since the neck swap. It plays great and sounds really nice. If only it weren't just so damned ugly I might keep it.
When it came to me there was a grounding problem that resulted in output even when both volume pots were zeroed. My local
luthier rewired the grounds and it works fine now. The J-pickup volume pot though has a rough section as it turns. It works, and it's silent, but it's not perfect.
The P-Bass neck was a c-hair fat for the pocket, so I carefully shaved a bit from the bottom edge of the pocket. The result is a very tight neck pocket fit, but also a slight flaw in the finish there. It's pretty well hidden, but a pic follows.
