FS: Squier Vintage modified Jazz Bass - practically brand new - /w pics

This is a Squier Vintage Modified series bass. I purchased it during an occasional visit to GC. Just loved how it looked and then I pluged in, like how it sounded. IMO Squier VM series are way better then MIM Fenders both sound-wise and cosmetics-wise.

Only played around 5 times and maybe 1 hour total. It has a natural finish, black inlays, black pickguard, leaf clover tuners. I set it to a low action and still has the original strings it came in. I got around 1 month ago and didn't invest much into it, so it is all original and it is practically new. There is some pickguard wear, which are impossible to avoid and there is a barely noticeable dingish thingy on the headstock, which -I assume- was there when I got it.

I paid the retail price, got a tax discount and a trivial low quality guitar stand with it. The only reason I intend to trade this bass, I am in a serious peavey GAS and already spent too much on the gear, so I need to work on the funds. I offered this one for trade for 12 hours, then I got a deal on another bass. So here it is for sale, unless you happen to have a dbx 166a compressor and a two bus "non-behringer" mixer plus/minus cash.

I don't have a case or a gig bag for this guitar. I will wrap it with 3/16 bubblewrap, then 1/2 bubblewrap, then put it in a guitar box and ship it like a "mummy" via UPS Ground.

I am asking $200 plus shipping, first come first serve.

Edit: I have never shipped or recieved a bass as of today and it turns out UPS charges a lot for shipping. I prefer to ship with USPS now, since I believe they are as safe as UPS in regard to larger boxes and faster.

If you pack the bass yourself UPS only charges like $15-20. But, I do plan on buying this if my other deals go through. I have a couple of things up on ebay that end tomorrow if they sell then i'll be all over this bass

I would love to know how that happens. I usually see numbers like 40-50 when I use the shipping calculator, am I missing something?

No, that's the normal price to ship a bass if you want to pack it well. The only time I've seen anything less than $45 when shipping a bass was when I shipped a bass back to Rondo Music for shipping damage since it was completely inadequately packed.

On the other hand, USPS is much closer to the $20 mark for shipping large items, and they do a great job of it.

I believe the deal is already sweet. I personally set the neck, adjust string height and intonation. Now it plays good with an arrow-straight neck and low action without buzz, which saves you around $50 setup fee.

Also no one can sell this bass lower than $279, which is the lowest price margin set by the manufacturer. I also checked the zzounds.com and yep, they sell it for $279.95.

Don't bet on it If this really doesn't sell in two weeks, I would just keep it. I am not comfortable with loosing 80 bucks with no reason in a month anyway
