After playing bass for 35 years I picked up a Squier Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz Bass as my first fretless, just to give it a try. I couldn't get with the Jaco vibe, so I swapped out the sunburst body for a brand new fully-loaded ALL BLACK Squier VM Jazz Bass ’77 body. As you can see, the result is a really nice looking (and great playing) bass.
Nice thing is, you still get all the great features and build quality that have made the Vintage Modified Jazz basses so popular these days including: one-piece maple neck, fretless ebonol fingerboard with white celluloid lines, single-coil Duncan Designed™ Jazz Bass pickups, chrome hardware and machine heads, black plastic Stratocaster® knobs, a three-ply Black/White/Black pickguard, and a four-saddle chrome bridge.
Well, after a few months of playing fretless, I was so inspired that that I've recently stepped up to a Tony Franklin P (purchased right here on TB) and so I am putting this bass up for sale.
The bass has never left my home studio in the couple months that I have owned it and is in excellent condition. The body is practically new and the neck shows only very minimal signs of wear as would be expected of a barely-used instrument. As an added bonus, it will come strung with Thomastik Infield Jazz Flats - sweet!
Thanks for looking! $300 Shipped to ConUS! SOLD! Thanks guys...

| | | | Neck/nut width: 1.5" (std J bass)
String height: Currently about 1/8" at the 12th fret (I prefer my set-ups on the high side, especially with these strings). I had it set much lower when I first got it and it played just fine. Neck is straight so you should have no problem dialing it in to your liking.
Weight: Right around 10lbs (it's a Squier, dude...)
Thanks for asking. |
