FS: The Squierowsky - DAJV/Sadowsky

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello Talkbass! I've got a uniquely modified Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V bass up for grabs. These instruments are terrific by themselves and the mods in this one make it an absolute killer. Plus, they don't make these anymore in white!

* Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V
* Sadowsky pre w/VTC
* Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups (99% the same as what Dimarzio makes for Sadowsky noisless)
* 34" scale
* 19mm string spacing at bridge
* 2" width @ nut
* Maple neck w/Ebonol board
* ~10lbs on bathroom scale

I'm going to miss the Sado pre, it's unlike anything else I've ever tried. The highs can get super zingy & the lows are really deep. What I like to do us crank the highs a little & then roll off the edge with VTC (which is a conventional passive tone control that works in both active and passive mode). That combination gets an amazing jazz bass on steroids sound. Of course, the bass can also be played completely passive and the tone control still works. This bass is so versatile, and can get you everything from zingy Marcus tones to passive old-school and everything in between.

Asking $480 shipped CONUS, paypal preferred.

It was played on this song (w/bass solo around 4:44)
02-Don_t Care.mp3 - DivShare

Here are a couple QnD pictures, I can take more on request!

I have one that's modded similarly, and for that price point, you won't find a better bass. I added Sadowsky PU's as well. It's an absolute tone monster!

Damn! A 2" nut width is just unmanageable for me, or I would be ALL OVER this. any interest in selling the pre?

Although the string spacing is 19mm, the Squire Deluxe 5 is not a wide neck by any means.
