FS: Status-Graphite 6-string Kingbass: Headless and all Carbon Fiber

Alright Ladies and Germs,

So if you are looking for something a little different, you've come to the right place! I'm selling my barely used, practically perfect condition, Status Graphite 6-string Headless Kingbass. It is the "graphite" edition as well. Lets run down some specs.
  • 6-strings
  • 34 inch" scale (unbelievably good sounding B!)
  • 17.5mm string spacing
  • completely carbon/graphite neck (with adjustable truss rod)
  • phenolic board
  • alder body vacuum wrapped in carbon weave
  • two Status soap bar pickups
  • a phenolic finger ramp between the pickups (this is just stuck on with double sided tape, easily removable if not your thing)
  • Status 303 active circuit (had them replace the blend knob with a 3-way pickup selector, makes for rapid tone changes on the spot and unloads the pickups for a fuller sound when using both at the same time)
  • zero radius neck (same thing you'd find on a classical guitar, makes the right hand have a completely even feel across all the strings, and I don't notice a difference in the left hand from a traditional radiused neck)
  • all status hardware
  • custom deeper cutaway (had Rob carve out about an inch and half on the upper horn to make it easier to access the top few frets, made a huge difference!)

So a couple notes about this bass. It plays wonderfully! Can setup the action as low as you want. Balances great because of the lack of headstock weight. It is has an oddly warm sound for a graphite bass. Nice punchy bass notes, but the chords are gorgeous on this thing. The lack of string to string crosstalk is better on this bass than any other I've played. The active circuit is very useful and easy to find the tones you are looking for. I'm selling this with its Status Hardshell case and 4 sets of extra double ball headless Status Strings. You can use any kinds of strings you like with the Status, but the double balls are just so easy to change! Can change out a six string set in about 5 minutes!

I've had this bass almost exactly a year and really haven't played it all that much. I bought it at the height of my touring schedule, and pretty much right after I bought it I went back to school. So it has basically just been sitting it my room. It is in absolutely perfect shape as far as I can tell except for a small blemish on the string retainer around the nut. Probably scraped it while changing strings. I'd love to keep it, but alas, I need the cash more. I paid about $4300 for this thing new a year ago, looking to get $3500 shipped conUS. Feel free to PM me with questions. Not really looking for any trades, but if you have a simple passive Jazz bass I might be interested in a small partial trade.

Proton

That bass is cool as hell, I love looking at the pics. It should have LEDs in it somewhere!
Someone is going to be a very happy camper when this shows up on the doorstep

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly. It is on the heavy side. My Ritter was 8 and half pounds. I'd say this a few pounds heavier. 10-11 pounds? With a good wide strap I had no problems wearing it for 3-4 hours straight though.
