FS Status S2 5 String

Sign in to disble this ad
After a lot of thinking (about how I'm going to support my current MTD addiction) I've decided that it's time for the S2 to go. Here are the details:

- Headed, "through-neck"
- 35" scale
- Two-piece mahogany body with walnut top
- Standard 19mm spacing
- Red accent line
- Status pickups and electronics (board 302)
- Schaller strap locks
- Original Hiscox HSC included.

I ordered this bass from Rob Green at Status last year and received the bass this past spring. It is in excellent condition. For the sake of full disclosure: there is a slight amount of lacquer missing from where the fingerboard ends (Rob's basses have several coats of lacquer on them, and these go right up to the edge of the fingerboard and nut). This is a very minor detail but I thought I'd mention it and include a photo (photo is below with the area in question "circled"). I should also mention that there is some lightening of the lacquer where the body wings join the graphite strip that goes through the body. It seems this is the result of normal wood contraction/expansion (while the graphite does not move). For what it's worth, I've seen the same thing on other Status basses. If you have any questions about this or would like photos I can take some and PM them to you. Again, this is a minor cosmetic detail that should not be any cause for concern.

Asking price is $2200 Canadian plus shipping. Would prefer to ship within Canada but I'm open to discussion on other locations.

One correction to point out - I'd originally posted the string spacing as being 19mm when in fact it is 18mm. Thanks for looking!

World-class bass for a killer price here, gang... I've wanted one of these for nearly 20 years.

Free bump for another good Canadian kid.... might have to move something on my end first.

^ Hey, I was just in Vancouver for a couple of gigs. Had a great time but was sorry I didn't have a chance to go up into the mountains (we don't get too many real mountains around Montreal...). Maybe next time.
