The Steinberger has always been my first love; my parents bought one for me back in 86 as my first "real" bass. When I had the opportunity to get another one a few years ago, I jumped at the chance.
Unfortunately, as music is mostly a hobby these days, and the only gigs I'm playing are at BBQ cookoffs

, I really only need one all-around bass. No sense keeping a bunch of gear I'm just not using. So, for your consideration, is an 1983 Steinberger L-2 in excellent condition. Logo sticker is intact. No gouges or dings in the body or neck, just some slight scratches near pivot plate attachment. Even better, I've got a lot of goodies that come with.
First off, you've got the original pivot plate. However, you'll see from the pics that there's another contraption attached. This is called the "boomerang". It allows you to position and lock the bass in absolutely any position/angle to meet your playing needs. I've kept it not completely locked, so that I could adjust on the fly. It makes you feel as if it's an extension of your body. Pretty awesome.
I've also got a plug-in legrest, a replacement made by Andy at Steinbergerworld. There's the original gigbag (sans Steinberger logo), AND--here's the best--hex screws that fit into the L-2 headpiece that allow you to use single-ball strings!
I'm looking for $2250 shipped; price non-negotiable, no trades, no Paypal. Sorry, but I'm not really chomping at the bit to sell this beauty, given its condition and all the goodies that come with; that's the dollar amount its gonna take to truly make it worth my while.
