FS: Steinberger Spirit XP-2 5 String (Rare)

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is a Steinberger Spirit in the very rare XP-2 model. Even more rare is this one is a five string. Even more rare than that is the electric blue color. Good times. All rare.

The XP Spirits were discontinued a while back. Design is neck through which is kinda cool as the original Steinie XP-2's were bolt ons. This has the more Vee shaped body naturally as this was the original XP design.

This bass is in immaculate condition from the finish to the hardware, up and down. A really cool piece wtih great sound and comes with the heavier old school Spirit gig bag as pictured.

Asking price is $450 shipped. As always I am amenable to best offers and trade offers.

Thanks for looking.

Wow... that bass looks pretty cool. I didn't know it was made in that color.

Assuming it has the same bridge as my Steinberger Spirit XZ-25, the string spacing at the saddles should be slightly under 16mm.

That sounds about right. My Aria SB's are 16MM and this feels as tight. Thanks for the info.

Bump for offers on a rare piece of Steinie history. I need to liquidate this and some other basses to let me know what you are thinking. Cash, trades or combo offers considered.

Hey Roger,

1) The most helpful measurement to take for us spec-hounds would be B to G, center-on-center at the bridge and report that number (millimeters is best). We'll do the rest. If you want to do this also for the nut width then double thanks to you.

2) Also, is that Vol/Vol/Tone for the preamp?

Thank you, Sir!

OK I will measure as soon as I get home (I am away for the weekend).

If it helps, there is some public data on the web I found re Steinie 5's which reveal the string spacing is 5/8" at the bridge. That is assuming all Steinie 5's are the same.

Regarding the controls, i tis volume volume tone but no preamp. The spirits are all passive.

Thanks.

OK Spec Hounds, sorry for the delay.

The span from B to G, center to center is 65mm. The individual string spacing is 16.25MM according to my ruler (I measured each string span) and dividing the total span by 5.

I hope this helps. If anyone is interested, please let me know. I want to move this which means...gasp...it is going to have to go to ebay if it doesn't sell here soon.

Thanks again for your patience with these measurements.
