FS/FT SUKOP DC 4 string *Beautiful Feeling, Sounding, Looking, Playing! NEW PRICE

Sign in to disble this ad
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Had this one up a few months ago at a higher price...price drop to reflect current market!

FS ...Seems that everyone has a bass that doesn't get enough attention in their stockpile....and so it is with me!

My Sukop sits because its really, really a spectacular bass. I really don't want to bring it out to my bar gigs, where some drunken idiot (read: my drummer) can whack into it or spill beer on it, and so it sits at home all lonely and such...

To hear sound clips and construction methods, as well as the builders philosophy on construction go to
http://www.sukop.com/

....it is the clearest, most robust bass I have put my hands on. The pictures and website can tell you much more than I can about the generalities of the bass, so I'll confine my remarks to the specifics of this particular bass. This is an earlier model with some differences from current models as I will try to note.

-3 piece neck -Hard Rock Maple/cocobolo/Hard Rock Maple (different than the 5 piece necks made today) with a Purple heart headstock
-Wenge Fretboard
-neck through construction
-Mohagany Body, with a Walnut soundplate, topped with Figured Maple
-Bartolini Pickups and Preamp
-Gotoh tuners
-the individual bridges are Kahler's.
-brass nut
-Dunlop straplocks (not recessed obviously)
-shielded electronics (and signed by the Steven Sukop)

Sukop's are argueably one of the finest basses on the Market. Because of the ergonomics built into it (again, check the website) You truly feel like the bass is a part of you when you play...very light, very easy to play. I've said enough: look at the pictures. Its a better bass than most of us deserve! (just kidding) 1500.00 shipped Conus w/ a Hardcase. International buyers contact me so we can see about shipping to your individual country. I take PayPal e-check or Money Order.

Oh yeah....I will accept reasonable offers...but save the lowballing...I'm not hurting for cash and don't mind at all if it doesn't sell.

Interesting Offers....if you ever wanted to try a Sukop bass, now is the time.

Possible trades for interesting Amps or a 410 Cabinet...I dunno, what do you have?

Man I would love to do the Pepsi challenge with this one vs my Alder/rosewood one.
I wonder what difference in tone the Mahogany/Wenge would make?

Anyway, All you Players out there....This bass Will spoil you.

I have the same situation with mine. I don't gig it much because it's so darn nice, but...I'll not sell it.

I've had 4 Sukops - ash/maple, mahogany/ebony, walnut/ebony fretless, and alder/maple. Although there were tone differences, they were more subtle than dramatic. They all sounded like Sukops--articulate, deep, natural, warm. All had the same electronics.

So true...

I would say also that the bass is well balanced, from a tone perspective. If you want to slap, you have a great sound...finger style produces, rich warm, "blends into the mix while still being distinct" sound. You can rock it, funk it, or jazz it up...hallmark of an exquisite instrument.

pm's

All PM's replied to....also cleaned the thread up a little.

I'm really all set with amps now. I would be more open to trades(full or partial) for basses....

Some thoughts:
-Sadowsky's
-Lakland DJ's
-G&L's (USA only) L2000 or other

Or PM me with what you have...ya never know!

And a "how-could-I-possibly-disagree" bump for the second day of the second decade of the second... uh ... third millenium A.D.
