FS: Sx (essex) Jazz bass old head stock, Quilted top!(local NYC/longisland only)

For sale is a 4-string sx jazz bass. It is in original, completely stock, unmodded condition.

4-string SX Jazz
Rosewood fretboard
3-tone burst over a Quilted Maple Top
Pearloid pickguard, Gold hardware
Currently strung with flatwound strings, Chromes. (If you don't want the chromes I would gladly use them on my other bass and put the original sx strings back on this bass and knock $10 off the price)

Purchased in 06 and used sparingly since then. It is in excellent condition except for a few small dings and scratches along the bottom of the bass. I tried to photograph them as best I could but glare made it kind of difficult (see the red circles in the pictures below).

There is no case included so I would rather not ship the bass if I don't have too. For now local only sale in the NYC/Long Island area. I live in Queens but work in Ronkonkoma so I would be happy to meet anywhere in between. I sometimes make my way into Manhattan as well.

Price is $100 strung with chromes or
$90 with the original crappy SX strings.

If I don't get any local interest I may open the sale up to shipping but for now it is only NYC/ Long Island area

Is this flame top, "photo flame" or real wood?

It looks like real wood but I guess I don't know to be honest. The burst finish too dark at the edges to see how thick it is. I thought I remembered the page on rondomusic saying is was a flame maple top but I can not find it anymore.

If Have any tips on how to tell for sure let me know or if there are any particular pictures you would like.

Edit: after some google searching I found rondos listing for the lefthanded version with red burst instead of a 3t busrt and they list that it is a "High quality filmed Quilted Maple top for an impressive look" -> Not sure what that means.

It's not "perfect" enough for fotoflame. It's quilted, but not a higher grade. I might want first dibs if you decide to ship.

And I'll claim second place dibs for shipping.

You are first on the list, then bigbassdaddy after you.

I just don't like the idea of shipping without a case. I'll look around and see what kind of boxes I can come up with.

I've had good luck getting new boxes from local music stores. There's a GC just down the street from me in Lake Forest -- when I've called them on a Thurs or Fri, they generally can save a box for pickup.
